Hampton Court Palace: fun for all the family! Posted On 19 November 2021

A royal palace situated within the borough of Richmond upon Thames, Hampton Court Palace is one of the most beloved palaces in the UK

Its structures began construction all the way back in 1515, and is perhaps Henry VIII’s most famous place of residence. Apart from the palace itself and its gardens, there are other features for visitors to enjoy, such as the celebrated maze, the historic real tennis court, and the huge grape vine, which is the largest in the world as of 2005. The palace’s Home Park is the site of the annual Hampton Court Palace Festival and Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

Just a 30 minute ride from Central London, Hampton Court Palace has something for everyone of all ages to enjoy, and is a pristine example of British Tudor architecture, whilst boasting 60 acres of magnificent gardens and an impressive artwork collection.

And here is what you can expect to be included in your ticket:

Shire Horse Sunday

There is the wonderful opportunity to see the palace Shire Horses based in the East Front Gardens. The Shire horses at Hampton Court are part of the last herd of working Shire horses in the whole of London. They live in Home Park, where they help to maintain the wildflower meadows there.

Henry VIII’S Kitchens

Transport yourself back to the Heydey of Tudor cooking and entertainment. Henry VIII’s kitchens at Hampton Court Palace were the largest of Tudor England, boasting 200 cooks, sergeants, grooms and pages working together to produce over 800 meals a day for the hungry household of Henry VIII.

The Magic Garden

Let your kids’ curiosity and imagination run wild in this magical children’s playground. Come face-to-face with mysterious, mythical beasts, storming the battlements, besieging the towers and exploring the secret grotto.

Haunted Gallery and Processional Route

Take the same walk Henry VIII did when he lived at the palace, taking the route from his private apartments to the Chapel (which is now lined with portraits of Tudor monarchs) and marvel at the infamous Haunted Gallery in the State Apartments at Hampton Court Palace.
